About

Hi! I’m Sonja. I’m a 25 year old Peace Corps Volunteer in Zambia. I am currently serving as an agricultural volunteer from 2015-2017. I have a passion for traveling, learning about cultures diverse from my own and discovering all that the world can offer.

I was born and raised in Minnesota, a place I believe is the best in the World. But that’s a story for another day.

Here you will find my thoughts and experiences during my stay in Zambia and my travels around Southern Africa. I live in a small rural village in Eastern Province, Zambia, near the town of Chipata.  Our goal, as LIFE (Linking Income, Food, and Environment) volunteers is to work with rural farmers to increase food security, promote IGAs, encourage home gardening, conservation agriculture, and agroforestry. Thanks for your support. Enjoy!
